Music and Hawaii are synonymous, so, consider having
singers
and/or musicians at your Hawaii wedding.
When one lives amongst all this inspiration and natural
wonder, it's almost impossible NOT to be artistic
and creative! Whether it's harp and flute music drifting
across the sands, a serenade by falsetto singers playing
traditional Hawaiian slack-key guitar, or mellow island
rock-and-roll that appeals to you, there's no shortage
of gifted artists waiting to add their talents to
your special day.
Once you've decided to have music
at your Hawaii wedding, give your Hawaii
wedding planner a list of any music that you'd
like the musicians to play (or NOT to play). This
is especially important if you have strong likes and
dislikes or if you have music that has special significance
for the two of you ('your song'). If you can get to
a record store that will let you preview CDs, try
to check out the Hawaiian music section. You might
discover the perfect Hawaiian song to showcase your
unique Hawaiian wedding. The beautiful' Aloha Oe',
composed by Queen Liliuokalani, remains a favorite
of Hawaiian performers, as do the modern classics
made famous by Iz. The wedding planners at Sweet
Hawaii Wedding work with some of the best talent
on Oahu and Kauai, and knowing your musical preferences
enables your Hawaii wedding planner to better match
your musical tastes to the artists they'll suggest.
Of course, if members of the wedding party are musical,
too, then a Hawaii wedding planner can arrange for
them be a part of the entertainment. If they're not
really musical, but think they are, then, in order
to prevent hurt feelings, a wedding planner is the
best person to gently steer the well-meaning would-be
artist into more appropriate ways to help celebrate
the moment.
Next, we ride the waves of music from singing to dancing:
very few things can compare to the beauty of the Hawaiian
hula, which is a slower version of its Tahitian sister.
If you've never witnessed, in person, the flowing,
expressive arm and hand movements, painting universal
stories and symbols in the air, then this is a Hawaiian
wedding event you'll definitely want to consider adding
to your program. You'll also discover that everyone
from 9 to 90 looks beautiful doing the hula, so be
prepared to join the dancer for a lesson in the most
romantic solo dance in the world.
If you want a more dramatic form of Hawaii
wedding entertainment, consider fire dancing.
Fire dancing can be done at any time of day, but it's
most awe-inspiring after dark, when the twirling,
spinning fire sticks seem to float in mid-air. So,
if your Hawaii wedding is at sunset, then you might
want to consider hiring a fire dancer to perform after
the sun goes down. Although this is a dance typically
done by men, a few women are now getting into the
act too.
It's important to note that some Hawaii
wedding locations won't allow fire-dancing on
the premises, so if fire dancing is an important feature
for you to include in your Hawaii wedding, be sure
and tell the Hawaii wedding planner, so that they
can narrow down the list of possible Hawaii wedding
locations.
